The outdoor learning experience at the Santa Barbara Zoo complements your in-class lessons or study projects while your students get first-hand knowledge of the natural world. Early reservations are recommended as a limited number of groups are admitted each day. Reservations are booked in the order in which they are received. Group size must be at least 20 for field trip reservations.
Confirmations will be sent via email. If you do not receive your confirmation within one week of sending in your reservation, please contact us by email or phone: (805) 962-5339, ext. 128.
Don’t miss a ride on the Zoo Train! Each round trip takes about 10-12 minutes and provides a new perspective on many of your favorite animal habitats.
Cost: $4/person. Children under 2 ride free.
Get up close to the tallest residents at the Zoo and feed the giraffes by hand. Zoo educators will answer your questions about giraffes and ensure that your students become giraffe experts!

Bird or reptile encounter for up to 60 people, lasts approximately 30 minutes.

With a focus on conservation and animal care, your guide will lead you on a one-hour tour through the Zoo and share their knowledge of the animals’ natural and personal histories.

The Zoo4U sponsorship program provides significantly reduced field trip admission for students attending Title I schools and nonprofit organizations serving children recognized as economically disadvantaged and/or at-risk.
Financial assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis based on funding availability. Requests must be received at least four weeks before the desired field trip date.
